Have some cherry-cream cheese kringle. I have a sweet tooth.
Today as we were driving into work, two adult turkeys were walking their babies on the side of the road (a busy highway). Hope they didn't try to cross. Anyway, Chris exclaimed,
"Awww, turkeys and their turklets."
Chris=Wordmakerupper
Which brings me to my question of the day (since I didn't look it up on the internet): What IS a baby turkey called?

Amazing what you learn on the internet:
http://www.saskschools.ca/~gregory/thanks/tkyinfo.html
"The male turkey is called a tom or gobbler. The female turkey is called a hen. Baby turkeys are called poults."
I like the term "turklets". It's no wonder cause I call the baby geese around here "gooslets" LOL.
*smacks forehead." Oh, you & Chris would have a fun nature walk, you wordmakeruppers. LOL.
Thank you for the correct term for turkey babies, even though it's a really dumb word. Who do we campaign to in order to change it to turklet? Chris is convinced there aren't enough baby animals ending in "-let."
Well, don't you call baby pigs "piglets"? *rolls eyes*
I have to agree, "poult" is a dum word. I've never even heard of it before.
*signs petition to get "turklet" as the official baby turkey name*
Lunch!
LMAO @ Breezy.
*WHACKS* Breezy!
If you don't like Breezy's suggestion, you are going to hate mine.
Cutlets.
Matches that whole ending in "let" thing.
LOL, I actually said it reminded me too much of turkey cutlets to Chris this morning!
Poults? Huh. In middle school, my girlfriend and I made up words all the time. I still have our dictionary somewhere...
So, every time somebody swoops, God makes a doglet eat a catlet, right?
Breezy took my answer.
I thought about you and Nolay yesterday because Elliott in the Morning was doing a slot where they were making fun of Hanson. And they were playing that song. I thought of Nolay on his John Deere, with his cooler, boots and headphones singing Um Bop.
Kimmmmmm!
I lol at the Pig and now understand HD's new pic. Payless, imho, doesn't have soft enough leather for sandals. Since they are your favorite summertime sandals, spend a little!!
Co-jack and summer sausage - I'd love some today!! opps that was Thursday.
I'm so far in debt that anythings less than $250 for the next two years won't work. We make around $100,000 together but we have two house payments and I'm a shopaholic.
Turklet sounds right to me. LOL and the workmakerupper.
I missed you!!
Sorry, I am still wretching from the cherry-cream cheese kringle...
You know, Chris is becoming a big ol' softie.
