Weekend thoughts

1. Going out in the town you grew up in can be very sad. We went out with a friend Saturday night and it reinforced why I could never live there. We are 30 miles away and sometimes that seems to close. I played "Round Here" by the Counting Crows on the jukebox at one bar. I don't think they got the symbolism.

2. If you eat guacamole, do you prefer it chunky (hand mashed) or smooth?

3. I love pancake breakfasts for charity. I will gladly give you money to feed me pancakes.

4. Planes are cool. I'm glad it's Chris's newest hobby...I just wish it were cheaper. I like looking at all the newer and older planes.

5. Did you know you should wax your metal outdoor furniture to help keep the finish looking good? We did our daybed this weekend. Next time, I will not use the green Turtle Wax. I'm buying the clear liquid stuff. There are too many nooks and crannies for Turtle Wax.

1. Really? I kind of have fun going out where I grew up. It's 1,000 miles away though - maybe that makes all the difference.

2. Must be chunky! Smooth just has a poor mouth to it. (And by 'mouth' I mean mouth 'feel'.)

3. Pancakes are a distant 4th at best on my list. Tops are waffles, french toast and crepes. And crepes are NOT pancakes!

4. Chris is flying now? Yes, a very expensive hobby. Two of my nephews are pilots. One is a navigator for FedEx and the other is a rogue aviation inventor who used to fly for a big name airline but then had some kind of back trouble that disqualified him.

5. I have never waxed my outdoor furniture. Instead I paint a coat of boiled linseed oil on it most
falls. It's amazing how much oil older wood furniture will suck up!

I should've specified "metal" furniture. Linseed oil wouldn't do much on my metal furniture and auto wax wouldn't do much on your wood furniture. :-)

1. I still pretty much live in my hometown.

2. *hurls many many many times*

3. I am a sporadic pancake eater. I will probably have some this weekend since it's the holiday.

4. The whole plane thing still makes me nervous. No way I could do it as a hobby.

5. We just replaced our seat cushions this year. Some of the metal needs some touch-up painting. I actually hate it, but I went with it because Michael loved it so much. I think the new cushions are a big improvement.

1. I never go back to where I grew up. If friends were gathering it might be fun.

2. Chunky! Smooth is like buying it from a grocery store. Ugh.

3. I'm with swami on pancakes. French toast, crepes, waffles and then pancakes. In that order.

4. The doc I work for has two planes. I like flying in the larger one better because it has two engines. You know. Just in case :)

5. I did not know I need to wax my furniture! I just repainted it a pretty blue. Thanks for the tip!

I wonder if the doc has the plane nicknamed "the doctor killer." Chris was telling me about it this weekend. It's a Beechcraft Bonanza.

1. I never go out when I go home.

2. chunky mmmmmmmm guac!

3. No thanks, I'd rather have stuffed hashbrowns. But I did make pancakes this weekend, how weird.

4. Planes are cool, but too expensive for me.

5. Didn't know that.

I work in the town where I grew up so I have to see it everyday. It is actually very much the same as it was when I lived here. Expanded a bit but not terribly. I like this city and wish that I could afford to live in it.
2. I love chunky. I will eat any form of an avocado but chunky is the best for me.
3. I like French toast or waffles over pancakes. But I wouldn't turn one down if it were free. They just require much moe syrup than the other two.
4. I hope ya'll buy a plane so you can come and visit me anytime you want. Or anytime that I want.
5. I found out that Turtle Wax doesn't remove the hair from your legs.

Going back to my hometown made me sad. Going out and seeing a bunch of people that had potential, slumped over at the bar, looking haggard and hanging out with 21 year olds is kind of sad.

1. I considered the town I went to HS in, and completely agree. Complete waste of time.

2. I like it was tomatoes.

3. *hmpf* I offered to make you pancakes for free. Oh, and I make the best dutch pancakes.

4. I want to fly in a fighter jet someday.

5. You have a daybed outside?

PS. Pulling mustard weeds is a major pain in the legs and back.

And waffles must be eaten with strawberries and whipped cream.

Swami and Tummy can eat breakfast with me anytime; I have the same favorites. I'm intrigued by Breezy's stuffed hashbrowns.

I just use the outdoor furniture; I don't take care of it.

I'm intrigued by Breezy's stuffed hashbrowns also. I say we all show at her house and demand she make them for us!

Potatoes for breakfast is just plain wrong. Wrong, wrong, wrong. I think 'stuffed' means they're all cheesy.

I never go back to where I grew up, even when I am in California, we never go there, no one I know lives there anymore.

Chunky guac is the only way.

I like pancakes, can't really eat them anymore. I tried a recipe for low carb pancakes that was cottage cheese blended with oats to make a batter, it was supposed to taste just like pancakes, it didn't

Grew up flying around in little planes, my dad has always had them. His new house is a hanger and his front yard is the runway, it's kinda fun to watch the planes take off. The antique planes are neat.

My outdoor furniture sucks, I see no reason to maintain it since I want it to die.
